Another week and another round up of cuts has been announced by Con-Dem government. Having cut the vital rebuilding of hundreds of schools across the UK the coalition government has now turned its eyes towards the UK Film industry - seemingly determined to bring it down. The Tories decision to axe the UK Films Council isn’t just an attack on Culture but also the struggling UK Film Industry.

Readers of the Daily Mail might have been interested to read the paper’s story on how ratings for the latest series of Doctor Who, starring Matt Smith and Karen Gillan, have dropped by 1.2 million since it’s launch and the paper blames the “sexing up” of the series for the ratings drop – however, as ever, the story isn’t entirely accurate.

ATV Bog joins the calls for a reform in the UK Electoral System as at least a thousand of Liberal Democrat supporters protest outside the party’s headquarters in London. The protestors, chanting “Fair Votes Now” want any deal with the Conservatives in forming a new Government to include reforming the Electoral System and the introduction of proportional representation.

ITV announced last month it was cancelling the police drama The Bill after 27 years on-air. Having fiddled with the format of the drama several times over the last decade, thereby having eroded viewing figures, ITV decided to cut their losses. This shouldn’t mean the end of The Bill though but a new chapter in its history – another broadcaster SHOULD step in.
