Wallace first appeared as the fiesty Kat Slater in September 2000 and went on to star in some of the programme's most memorable storylines but her character is probably best remembered for the plot which saw her reveal to her sister Zoe that she was in fact her mum having been raped by their uncle at a young age. Since leaving EastEnders in 2005 Jessie has appeared in several episodes of Wild at Heart as well as one-off drama’s; Miss Marie Lloyd, The Dinner Party and A Class Apart. She will return to filming with EastEnders later this year for scenes to be aired in the autumn. |

Just days after the news that Shane Richie is returning to EastEnders as Alfie Moon it’s been confirmed that actress Jessie Wallace is also on her way back to the BBC One soap. Following reports of Richie's comeback over the weekend, much speculation was made on whether Wallace would be joining Richie in the soap. Their characters Alfie and Kat enjoyed a romance and marriage that was hugely popular with audiences. The two left Albert Square together in 2005 to start a new life away from Walford.
