New Tricks beats ITV's Married, Single, Other PDF Print E-mail

New ITV comedy drama series Married, Single, Other continued to struggle in the ratings last night despite a strong start two weeks ago when more than 6 million viewers tuned in. However, last week’s second episode of the new series lost 2 million viewers when it went up against the opening instalment of stripped BBC One drama Five Days and this week it lost out once again to a BBC Drama, a repeat of New Tricks. According to overnight figures the ITV drama started off the 9pm hour with 4.5 million viewers but quickly lost a million viewers as dropped to 3.5 million. BBC One’s repeat of popular drama New   Tricks had 4.2 million viewers across the hour.  The second instalment of Lambing Live on BBC Two, with Kate Humble, saw a slight rise in the ratings last night with 2.6 million viewers while Channel Four’s edition of Dispatches which focused on Tory leader David Cameron had just under 1 million viewers.

 

Soapwise and it was Coronation Street which took the lead last night as the two episodes of the Manchester based soap both rated above 10 million viewers. The first instalment of the ITV soap had 10.2 million viewers at 7.30pm while the 8.30 episode had 10 million viewers, a slight drop. BBC One soap EastEnders had 9.6 million viewers in which Lucy and Jane revealed to Ian that Lucy was pregnant and bonkers Becca surprised grieving Max Branning by sneaking into his house and waited naked for him on the kitchen table. The 10.30 BBC Three repeat added a further 850,000 viewers meaning the combined figure for the episode was over 10 million. Elsewhere and Emmerdale had 7.5 million viewers at 7pm and daytime soap Doctors had 1.9 million at 1.45pm.
