EastEnders tops soap ratings for Thursday PDF Print E-mail

BBC One soap EastEnders was once again top of the ratings last night and for the sixth consecutive week it beat rivals Coronation Street. BBCAccording to overnight figures EastEnders drew 8.5 million viewers for the episode which saw the return of Danny Mitchell to Albert Square. The 10.30pm repeat of the episode was seen by 840,000 viewers. Although the ratings for the BBC One airing of the episode puts it ahead of rivals Coronation Street they are down slightly on earlier in the week when the soap attracted nearly 9.5 million viewers. On ITV1 and the double bill of Emmerdale had 7.1 million viewers at 7pm and slightly more at 8pm with 7.5 million. Coronation Street had 8.3 million at 8.30 as Peter and Leanne discover that George has taken Simon away yet again. Daytime soap Doctors had 1.8 million viewers for BBC One at 1.45pm.

 

Elsewhere last night and Masterchef had 4 million viewers for BBC One at 8pm and then 3.6 million tuned in for Cars, Cops and Cameras at 9pm on the channel. At the same time on ITV1 cop-drama The Bill was slightly ahead with 3.9 million viewers. Lambing Live on BBC Two at 8pm had 2.1 million viewers. Teen-drama Skins had 648,000 viewers for E4 whole the season finale of Billie Piper drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl had just over half a million viewers for ITV2 at 10pm. Before the drama on ITV2 was What Katie Did Next which had 1.1 million viewers.
