Nearly 8000 people have complained over the possible closure of digital radio station BBC 6 Music, the corporation has revealed. The station has been marked for closure along with BBC Asian Network as part of the BBC’s plans to cut back on services and redirect money to elsewhere in the corporation; such as BBC Two, CBBC and more investment in drama and comedy. Although the closure of 6 Music is only part of the proposals put forward by the BBC to save money it is by far the most controversial prompting a furious backlash from the public and those within the music industry. Amongst those high profile figures to oppose the closure are Richard Bacon, Jarvis Cocker and Adam Buxton while a campaign on Facebook and Twitter have also been launched. A campaign to save the BBC Asian Network is also underway with over 100 high profile British Asians signing a letter of support for the station. The proposals for the closures and cut backs have now been put forward to the BBC Trust who have begun a public consultation on them. The trust has already stated that if there is wide spread opposition to the proposals from the public then certain elements will be changed.

It might be an idea, rather than just copy and pasting press releases, to do some journalism with it and find out the current number of comments sent to the commission.
Otherwise you are just reporting spin by the BBC.
