Did I mention it’s very hot in Milan, or Milano as the locals call it. We pretty much had the fan on all night and were reluctant to leave the hostel for the heat outside. But after having breakfast and applying copious amounts of sun cream and insect repellent stuff we ventured out.

Our flight to Milan from Berlin taught us one thing – Europeans cannot queue. We didn’t encounter this problem flying from Stanstead to Stockholm, as Brits can queue, nor did we flying from Stockholm to Berlin – Swedes can queue as well.

We visited a concentration camp about an hour from our Hostel. The holocaust is one of those things you just can't understand at all but being in an actual camp, where the murders were carried out, just made the whole thing even worse.

We arrived Berlin ahead of schedule as our flight was faster than the time table said. So we arrived around 9ish in German time and traveled straight to our Hostel, which was located in East Berlin - so in the former Communist part of the City and the country. The Hostel was really nice though and the staff very helpful! From the Hostel we were able to do a free walking tour of Berlin!

Our second and last day in Stockholm so we had to cram loads in. We started off with a fab breakfast at the Hostel and then, after getting lost again, found our way to the docks where we book an all-day hop-on/hop-off boat tour of Stockholm. The boat stops at six or seven stops around the various islands which make up this side of Stockholm.

Its summertime and Britain is currently a rather unappealing place with its un-elected Prime Minister holding onto power - despite the British voters telling him to get stuffed, add to that the hit-and-miss weather we decided to see if the grass is greener on the other side. Here at ATV we raided the expenses drawer and hopped into one of New Labour's greatest loves - Europe. Follow our ATV Euroboy as he takes a tour of some of the countries in the European Union.
