It’s been a long time coming but finally Caprica has seen a rise in SyFyviewers rather than a decline. On Friday evening the latest episode of the Battlestar prequel series had 1.1 million viewers – now that’s a rise on the previous week’s episode which dipped below the 1 million mark. It’s good news for Caprica which had been struggling with the ratings somewhat since its debut in January. The opening episode, a pilot which had already been released on DVD, pulled in 1.6 million viewers but subsequent episodes saw ratings fall – perhaps now the show is in recovery.

Despite the low ratings for the Galactica spin-off news broke yesterday that work had already begun on a possible second season – pre production and writing. SyFy has yet to officially announced a second season but sources told SFX magazine that work had already begun on planning a second season and was due to start filming later in the year.

Friday evening’s episode of Caprica will air in the UK on Sky One tonight. You can find out what to expect from the episode by clicking here >>
