The Sarah Jane Adventures has been nominated for a Royal bbcTelevision Society award. The CBBC drama has been nominated in the Children’s Drama category and is up against MI High and Roy – all of which are CBBC drama’s. The Sarah Jane Adventures is a spin-off from Doctor Who and stars Elisabeth Sladen as former companion to the Doctor, Sarah Jane Smith. So far three seasons of the spin-off have been produced to critical acclaim and good ratings. While a fourth season has yet to be officially announced by the BBC it is widely expected to happen.

The spin-off has previously been nominated for a Children’s Bafta in 2008 and in 2009 was nominated for a Welsh Bafta – both times in the Drama Category. In the recent third season actor David Tennant crossed over to the spin-off for two episodes as the 10th Doctor. John Leeson has also reprised his role of the voice of K-9 for the spin-off in numerous episodes and Nicholas Courtney reprised his Doctor Who role of Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart for two episodes in the show’s second season.
