The BBC has yet to decide the fate of its post-apocalyptic drama series bbcSurvivors, a re-imaging by Adrian Hodge of the classic 1970s series which was created by Terry Nation. The second season concluded its six-part run on BBC One on Tuesday evening with an audience of 4 million viewers but ratings for the second season were down on its first series in 2008 prompting speculation from some that the BBC would cancel the series. The series ended with a cliff-hanger as the character of Tom [Max Beasley] stowed away onboard a plane headed for an unknown destination.

When contacted by ATV News the BBC stated ‘No decision has been made yet, series 2 has only just ended." However, the BBC was quick to re-commission Survivors in 2008 announcing a day before the final episode that a second season had been commissioned. A BBC insider hinted to ATV News that the corporation is waiting to see how well Survivors performs on BBC America which has just begun to air both seasons of Survivors.

Please do not cancel, give the loyal fans some closure. Do not end up like USA tv who cancel shows too quickly otherwise what is the point of watching any dramas that you produce as I might not get to see an ending. Look at where you went wrong and fix it.

What's up with you Brits and only doing six episodes per season? ("series";)

    Can't you do anything right???

    j/k

It's a pretty good series. (so far -- end of first season -- except: Get some GUNS!!! and quit letting people bend you over the proverbial stump and arse-rape you until your eyes cross)

The original series (1975), which can be watched online, holds up relatively well, too.
