Planning on a possible second season of Caprica is already underway according to SFX magazine. Although the SyFy Channel has yet to give the green-light to a second season of the Galactica prequel work has already begun to plan it – meaning the production team must be pretty confident of being handed a second season order. Sources close to the production have revealed to SFX that planning for a second season is scheduled to start later this year with a probable air date of January 2011.

SyFy are unlikely to confirm a second season – or cancel Caprica for that matter – for a few weeks yet as the series is still in its early days. So far only a handful of episodes have aired in America and the UK. Although ratings have so far proved disappointing its still seems that SyFy has confidence in the series.
