The CW has renewed superman drama series Smallville for a tenth CWseason. The show was widely expected to be renewed by the broadcaster because of its strong performance in its Friday night slot so far across its ninth season. While some had speculated its ninth season would be its last others were expected a 10th season renewal. Two weeks ago The CW handed renewal orders to Gossip Girl, 90210, The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural and America’s Next Top Model. At the time Smallville was absent from the list but was still expected to be renewed later on. There’s still no news if One Tree Hill or Life Unexpected will be renewed by The CW but the fate of Melrose Place, while not yet officially confirmed, looks sealed due to low ratings.
